Musical instruments such as the saxophone, flute, trombone and clarinet have been donated to the school for the music program by the Tutor family. Any student wishing to check out an instrument over the summer, please contact the front office or Mark Manners at 274-2601. A small maintenance fee will be charged for summer rental – this amount will vary depending on the instrument. Jazz Band will resume in the fall.
Friday is a dress down day for all students and staff. Thank you to everyone for contributing to the Penny Wars. $1241.88 was raised, half of which will be donated to Catholic Social Services.
Monday is the last full day of classes. Tuesday through Thursday will be half days, with exams ending at 11:15AM. There is no school on Friday as it is a professional development day.
Please send in your re-enrollment fee of $250. Classes are filling up for next year so be sure to reserve your spot. We are starting a waiting list for 10th grade after 24 students enroll. We will cap total enrollment at 100 so act soon.
Lumen parents ROCK! The Lumen Christi Parent Volunteer Organization (PVO) has been named Ministry of the Year by the Stewardship Committee of St. Benedict’s Parish as an expression of gratitude for the faith and generous stewardship of its participants. Congratulations to all our hard-working volunteers!
Please enter your share hours in the book in the front office. Many families have not recorded their share hours and will be charged $35 for each missing hour at the end of the school year.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the Disabled American Veterans Gun Show from August 2-4, 2013. If you would like to get a start on share hours for next year, sign up to help at the Gun Show. The DAV generously supports Lumen Christi through scholarship assistance.
The Archangel Attic welcomes any Lumen students and parents who would like to volunteer to work on Saturdays, after school and over the summer. Share hours are available. To schedule a time to volunteer, please contact Mary Manes at 245-0017. There will a yard sale in Kempton Hills to support the Archangel Attic on Saturday May 18. Those volunteering on the day of the sale should plan to show up between 7:30 and 8 AM. Contact Gail Grafton for more information.
Lumen Christi’s production of: Cinderella! Cinderella! By Edith Weiss will be Friday, May 17, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Upper Room of Lumen Christi High School. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased in the Lumen Christi front office or from an LCHS drama student. Tickets will be available at the front door on opening night.
Graduation will be held in the gymnasium tonight at 7PM. Come help send off the graduating class of 2013 to life after Lumen. A reception will follow immediately after graduation.
